You could say that premature ejaculation is men’s number one sex problem due to the fact that they can experience the condition at some point in their lives. Some men can get this condition early on in life, while there are others that may have acquired this later on.
In a study that was conducted by the researchers at the University of Liege, after surveying 492 men that are aged between 18-74, it is indeed true that a lot of people have misconceptions about the condition. Here are just some of the myths:
PE is a Lifelong Condition
Although there is a chance that it will prevail later on in life; it doesn’t mean that when the person has PE, that they will have it for the rest of their living days.
This condition is highly circumstantial. It can vary from person to person and partner to partner.
People Who Suffer from PE Are Anxious People
This is false. Most people who have PE have normal anxiety levels (although it could increase the risk of getting this condition).
Men Often Get Distressed Because of PE
In all honesty, women are more distressed by the fact that their partners are bothered with the condition and not necessarily due to how long the sex lasts.
Men Who Finished Under Two Minutes of PE
Well, that hasn’t really been established. You could say that that was just the terms that were agreed upon. Otherwise, even lasting for 5 minutes can be considered premature ejaculation for some couples.
Medications Are the Only ‘True’ Way of Treating PE
No, although it certainly can treat it. In fact, only 12 percent of the male respondents had tried any medications that help fix the problem.
PE May Develop at Any Age
Well, there are two types of the condition. Some are born with PE and there are also men who will acquire the condition later on in life.
According to the same Belgian survey, men who are at the ages of 50 and above tend to have more PE due to the fact that erectile dysfunction is quite prevalent in this age bracket.
Women Are Unhappy with Men Who Have PE
The truth is that women do not really care, so long as they get satisfied in other means. For instance, if their partners have premature ejaculation and come off way too quickly, their men can please them in other ways such as intense foreplay, kissing, and other kinky action.
Remember that women may need more stimulation in order for them to reach orgasm, but the good thing is that there are more ways than one to help them reach that point.
If you are suffering from PE, you just have to be creative.
Medications Are the End-all-Be-all
Although medications have been prescribed before, premature ejaculation is a condition that can be treated through other means. Also, there are no medications that directly target PE, but rather, it is an intended side effect by taking some antidepressants.
